Nurse Assistant Training/CNA Training

The American Red Cross is fully committed to adhering to the highest standards of instruction through our Nurse Assistant Training Program. Both the in-house and the online courses will provide the training and skills that enable students to provide high quality care for residents in hospitals and long-term care settings. Successful completion of this 75-hour course prepares the student to take the Kentucky state competency exam.

Registration Information

Participants must be at least 16 years old. Each class is limited to 15 students. Fee for In-house classes are $500.00, (or agency sponsored voucher) due at time of registration. Online course fee is $620.00 due at time of registration. Payment may be made online or by visiting the American Red Cross at 510 East Chestnut Street in Louisville. The expense for materials, criminal background checks, TB skin tests, uniforms, shoes, and state testing is not included in the course registration fees. Attendance and Testing

Nurse Aide Training program guidelines require all students to complete 75 hours of training. 59 of those hours are spent in classroom and 16 hours in the clinical setting. You must attend every session. The online curriculum varies, please see curriculum for time requirements. Upon successful completion of the course you are given an American Red Cross course completion card and this will make you eligible to take the state Nurse Aide exam.
 

How to Register

Students may register in person by visiting the American Red Cross at 510 East Chestnut Street in Louisville. You may also choose to register by telephone by calling (502) 561-3605. Students may also register online for the in-house and online class offerings.

Refund and Transfer Policy

There are no refunds. A student may transfer one time after their initial registration. The transfer request must be submitted at least 10 business days prior to the scheduled course start date. There will be a one time fee of $50.00 to transfer.
